About Cortidea

Henrik Stæhr Jørgensen is a Danish entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the interior textiles and home décor industry. In 1990, a young Henrik Stæhr arrived on the Costa del Sol after several years of working in the curtain, blinds, and sun shading industry in Denmark, where he received his professional education.

He took a leap of faith by accepting a job in Spain as a curtains and blind specialist; since then, the Costa del Sol has become the foundation of his professional and personal life. In 1995, Henrik founded Cortidea, a leading interior textiles and home décor shop offering a wide range of premium curtains, blinds, wallpaper, carpets, re-upholstering, and awnings. He started in a small basement, but today, Cortidea occupies much larger premises on the Mijas Road, providing customers with even more space to explore our curated selection.

Our values

We make and install custom interior textiles for homes across the Costa del Sol. Curtains, blinds, awnings, carpets, wallpaper and re-upholstery. Each project starts with a home visit, exact measurements and a fabric or material that suits both the room and the way you live in it.

We pick the brands we work with carefully. Luxaflex, Saxun, Gaviota, Sanderson, Designers Guild, Kvadrat and others, chosen for build quality, warranty support, and ranges that suit Spanish homes and the Spanish climate. Whether the project is a single room or a full villa, we sew, fit and finish in-house, not subcontract.
